California Constitutional Amendment to Restore Voting Rights to Californians Who Are Incarcerated Passes Assembly Committee on Elections

Sacramento—A proposed constitutional amendment to restore voting rights to all California citizens who are currently completing prison sentences, passed the Assembly Committee on Elections today. The proposed amendment, ACA 4, authored by Assemblymember Isaac G. Bryan (D-55, Los Angeles), will be placed on the November ballot for approval by all current California voters.

Justice Reform Press Conference

Asm. Bryan held a press conference on the steps of the State Capitol to announce the introduction of a major bill he has authored, which would have historic legislative significance for impacting voter's rights as well as justice reform.

Eyvin Hernandez, a LA County Public Defender, has been wrongfully detained in Venezuela for almost a year. It is long past time for him to be home with his family and friends. Assemblymember Bryan introduced HR 11, and spoke on this subject during session.
